All of the glass is original and the windshield is crack-free. I like the look and think it gives the car a clean, classy look. The vinyl top is in nice shape with no apparent rips or tears. The chrome does show some pitting from its just under 68k miles of use. All correct trim and emblems are present and in great shape. The underside of the rockers, quarters, fenders, and floor boards are solid as a rock, and the wheel wells look so clean, just the way a California car should. This car is a totally solid, rust free car, and obviously never saw snow or salt. These cars are becoming harder and harder to find in their untouched form and we thought best to leave this one as so. The front and rear cowls show fading from the sun but have not been repainted. It was just carefully cut and buffed to a nice shine and shows very well! There are assorted chips on the front of the car from its road-tripping uses. The majority of 19 Continentals were bodied as sedans, with a small percentage being vinyl-upholstered convertibles whose power tops effortlessly retracted into the trunk. To help reduce noise and vibration, refinement such as sealed electric window-lift motors and a crankshaft-driven pump for the power steering and hydraulic systems were installed. They were then given high-pressure water testing, followed by being put on a lift to check for leaks. Each engine was dyno-tested for three hours and the completed car was driven on the streets and expressways near the Wixom assembly plant and then returned for defects to be corrected. Dana engineers worked with Ford designers to develop a special universal joint at the transmission to accommodate the constant angular difference. The engine was installed at a seven-degree angle to drop the back of the transmission. The engine remained the 430 cubic-inch V8 with a single dual-throat carburetor and dual exhaust, producing 300 horsepower. Standard features included power windows, power steering, power brakes, an electric clock, folding center armrests, and a radio with a rear speaker.
